Terms & Conditions at The Phone Stand at Hempstead – Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre
Welcome to The Phone Stand. By leaving your device (mobile phone, tablet, or other electronic device) with us for repair, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Warranty Coverage
One-Year Warranty:
We provide a 12-month (one-year) warranty on all repairs, starting from the date of collection. This warranty strictly covers mechanical or technical failure of the specific parts replaced during the repair.
Warranty Exclusions:
The warranty is immediately voided if the device suffers from any of the following after collection:
Accidental Damage: Drops, cracks, pressure damage, or physical impact.
Third-Party Damage: Any subsequent repairs, opening, or tampering with the device by anyone other than The Phone Stand.
Fluid/Water Damage: Any exposure to liquids, moisture, or corrosion.
Non-Transferable:
This warranty applies only to the original customer and the specific device repaired. It is non-transferable.
2. Data Loss and Backups
Important Notice:The Phone Stand strongly advises all customers to fully back up their devices (to iCloud, Google Drive, or a computer) prior to booking a repair.
While we take every precaution, some repairs require software restoration or hardware manipulation that carries an inherent risk of data loss.
We cannot be held responsible or liable for any loss of data, photos, contacts, information, or software during the repair process.
3. Liquid/Fluid Damaged Devices
Repairs on devices with pre-existing liquid damage are carried out on a "best-effort" basis.
Liquid damage can cause unpredictable, progressive corrosion over time. The Phone Stand offers no warranty on liquid damage cleaning or repairs, and we are not liable if the device worsens or fails completely during or after the repair attempt.
4. Diagnostics and Unforeseen Issues
If a device is brought in for a specific repair (e.g., a cracked screen), but our technicians discover additional underlying faults during the process, we will pause the repair and contact you with a revised quote.
For devices that do not turn on, we cannot fully test all functions (such as cameras, Wi-Fi, or speakers) beforehand. We are not responsible for pre-existing, hidden faults that become apparent once the device is powered on.
5. Collection and Abandoned Devices
We will notify you via text, call, or email as soon as your repair is complete.
Pick-up Timeline: All devices must be collected and paid for in full within 60 days of notification.
Abandoned Property:
Devices left uncollected after 60 days may be sold or recycled to recover the cost of parts and labour. The Phone Stand accepts no liability for devices disposed of under these circumstances.
6. Waterproofing and Seals
Many modern phones and tablets are manufactured to be water-resistant. Opening the device to perform a repair breaks the manufacturer's original factory seal.
*While we use high-quality adhesive replacements, we cannot guarantee that the device will remain water-resistant after a repair.
7. Quotes and Payment
All quotes provided are estimated based on the information given at the time of booking. If extra parts are required, we will seek your approval before proceeding.
Full payment is required upon collection of the device. We accept cash and major credit/debit cards. Devices will not be released without full payment.
